A roof terrace balustrade has to resist significant wind forces. Uplift trying to lift the deck. Lateral pressure pushing the glass. On a conventional installation those forces travel through anchor bolts into the building structure – which means drilling through the waterproof membrane to get there.

BalcoDeck® takes a different approach entirely. The system uses a combination of surface adhesive bonding, distributed ballasting, frictional resistance and perimeter engagement to resist both uplift and lateral loads – without any penetration of the horizontal roof membrane. Every installation is assessed to BS EN 1991-1-4 and BS 6180, and the results are documented in the Certificate of Compliance provided at handover.

The waterproofing stays intact. The structural performance is code-compliant and certified.
